This is our 2nd Year hosting Cornwall @ The Mall. A night for Cornwall Family and Friends to shop for toys and gift cards that will all go to The Community Toy Store that serves Whatcom County families that can't afford to purchase gifts for Christmas.
My event planning partner was down for the count the morning of the event day, under heavy post-op anesthetic. I woke up praying everything would be seamless and smooth and that God would go before me preparing the night ahead. As I drove into the office down Barkley Hill, there was a rainbow in the sky and it looked like it landed right in the area of the Mall. I thanked God for showing off for me, but was thinking to myself at the same time that it was probably over Haskell business center and I'm a dork. So, I continued to track the rainbow as I drove. I think God likes to show off, as well as reassure us that He is in control of all of our plans -because as I approached the Mall along I-5, that rainbow not only didn't disappear, but was landed right in the parking lot at Bellis Fair.
Our Small Group met early for dinner before the event.
And then they went shopping...
We had over 600 people in attendance!
The gift elves with Pastor Bob at the end of the night.
All the girls worked hard in helping stack gifts. We then got to load everything up into a truck for delivery.
The event was a huge success again and God had prepared a "pot o gold" that was in the form of 82 commercial sized garbage bags of toys, 6 bikes, 22 Build-a-Bear boxes and $2900+ in gift cards! We filled 50% of the storage building that was housing the gifts. Praise God - He is good.
